A little bit about me
Originally from a small village in Devon I moved to Farnborough at just 16 years old, Being around the farming and equine community growing up gave me the oportunities to develop a passion for most types of vehicles and develop knowledge from an early age.
My father ran a successful driving school so it was natural that my passion would lead me down the same road !
At just 21 after qualifiying as an approved driving instructor I quickly established myself within the industry working within my fathers Driving School, After several years I decided to establish Nick Martin's Driving School and focus on building a team around me to offer quality tuition to our customers.
Having achieved my goal I decided to focus my attention on training people to use trailers for work and leisure purposes and my team to continue the good work with our new drivers.
After researching this area I found only a few training providers delivering a service I would expect myself.
My clients are people with stories to tell and individual goals coming from all walks of life, I endevour to provide a service that will help you achieve your licence as cost effectively as possible.
Clients have called me after experiencing training with other providers that just isn't acceptable in our industry
"One saying they needed to imagine where the cones were to reverse around as he didnt have any"
My large tarmac reversing area is set up exactly as it will be at the test centre so you will feel confident on the day
The myth that you will require 3-4 days is simply untrue !
Most clients with no previous towing experience but a general good standard of driving require 2 days !
Experienced users of trailers and a good standard of driving is just a day course !
its true that some clients will require 3 days to feel confident and raise their driving standard but i only had one client last year that needed an extra day as she had only driven an automatic car for the previous 25 years.
I pride myself in offering a high quality of training for this catagory and achieve proven pass rates of 95 % in 2019 with currently all clients being sucessful in 2020.
As a family we enjoyed many years of caravan holidays.
Many years later I now help clients to tow their caravans , take their horses to shows and ensure they feel confident in towing as their journey just begins.
In 2018 I was very proud to have been recognised as one of 7 top trailer training providers in the Uk by Horse and Hound magazine, and featured again in 2019.
My wife and one of my daughters are fast becoming happy equestrians which is taking us on a new journey.
New rule changes introuduced in 2021 has allowed the oportunity to be able to offer HGV | LGV C1 driver training to clients that are training to become paramedics or clients that would like to drive up to 7.5 ton horseboxes.
I passed my Hgv when i was 21 and have always had a passion for larger vehicles.
I am always happy to answer any questions you may have with no obligation.
